Trump SLASHES Medicare—States Must Pay as Iran War ENDS

President Trump declared Wednesday that federal funding for Medicare, Medicaid, and day care programs must end because military operations take priority, pushing these responsibilities to state governments as Operation Epic Fury against Iran concludes its 32nd day.

Federal Programs Cut as Military Focus Intensifies

Speaking to Americans Wednesday evening, Trump stated the federal government cannot maintain domestic social programs while conducting military operations. “It’s not possible for us to take care of day care, Medicaid, Medicare, all these individual things,” Trump said. “They can do it on a state basis. You can’t do it on a federal. We have to take care of one thing: military protection.” The president emphasized that states must assume full financial responsibility for programs previously funded through federal budgets.

Iran Campaign Declared Successful

Trump reported that Iran now poses minimal threat following 32 days of Operation Epic Fury. The military campaign targeted Iran’s naval forces, air capabilities, missile programs, and defense manufacturing infrastructure. “Iran is essentially no longer a threat,” Trump announced, claiming comprehensive destruction of the nation’s military capacity. The president expressed frustration that domestic political considerations prevent the United States from seizing Iranian oil fields, stating Americans lack patience for extended occupation despite the strategic value.

Oil Seizure Comments Draw Attention

The president told luncheon guests he would prefer capturing Iranian oil resources but believes the American public wants troops home. “We could just take their oil. But I’m not sure that the people in our country have the patience to do that, which is unfortunate,” Trump said. “If we stayed there, I would prefer just to take the oil. We could do it so easily.” He suggested public pressure for victory and withdrawal prevents what he views as preferable long-term strategic positioning in the region.

Constitutional Questions Emerge

The announcement raises significant constitutional and fiscal questions about federal authority over established entitlement programs. Medicare and Medicaid serve tens of millions of Americans through federally funded healthcare coverage. Trump’s position argues military spending must supersede domestic programs, requiring states to independently fund social safety nets previously supported by federal tax revenues. Gas prices have risen during the Iran conflict, with energy analysts monitoring supply chain impacts from Middle Eastern military operations.
