For quite some time, Fox News was a network that maintained a friendly relationship with President Trump.
When reporting the news and facts, many hosts on the conservative network steered clear of outright bias and the distortion of information. The same, however, cannot be said for networks like CNN, MSNBC, and even the New York Times.
These outlets, along with others, have taken heat for intentionally putting out wrong information, some of which they were later forced to retract.
There was a period where President Trump and Fox News pretty much saw eye-to-eye with one another. However, the president’s remarks during an interview with Mark Levin, a radio host, confirm that he and Fox News no longer have the friendly relationship of the past, according to Breitbart News.
The Disconnect Between President Trump and Fox News
While speaking with Levin, the commander-in-chief explained that Fox News is a “different ballgame” and no longer great like they used to be. In making this assessment, Trump pointed out differences between Fox News’ coverage of the 2016 presidential election and their current reports on the 2020 presidential election.
Levin responded, stating that Trump’s assessment would probably cause Levin to get certain complaints from the executives who run Fox News. Trump, however, stood his ground, stating that he says the same thing during interviews with Fox News.

During talks with Rush Limbaugh, another radio host, the 45th president shared similar remarks about Fox News. Trump explained that he believed former House Speaker Paul Ryan’s spot on Fox News’ editorial board has negatively impacted the tone and direction of the network.
However, Trump did extend certain praise to particular Fox News hosts such as Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, and Sean Hannity. Before the interview with Limbaugh concluded, the president declared that Fox News is “50 percent of what they were.”
The Chris Wallace Factor
Of all the Fox News anchors, Chris Wallace has taken the most heat from Trump. During the first presidential debate, conservatives slammed Wallace for helping Biden throughout the 90-minute process; this occurred with Wallace feeding the 2020 Democrat easy questions while often hitting Trump with “gotcha” questions.

Outside of the debates, Wallace is often a staunch critic of President Trump and Republicans in general. This hasn’t done him any favor with conservative Americans either; some even suggested that Wallace might be better suited with a job at CNN or MSNBC.
