Schumer Dares Trump to Testify in Impeachment Proceedings

As the impeachment proceedings continue to play out, Democrats aren’t happy with facing dissent or challenges. If the left had their own way, the nation would just magically get on board with impeachment. In the minds of the Democrats, Republicans are the enemy for calling out the lack of evidence to support impeachment.

President Trump himself has also been very outspoken about the inquiry. He hasn’t hesitated to publish tweets and call out lies as they present themselves. Moreover, Trump has repeatedly reminded the nation that no quid-pro-quo happened; this is confirmed by President Zelensky, the Ukrainian government, and the transcripts of the conversation between the pair.

However, Democrats don’t care about facts, they care about pushing a political, anti-Trump agenda at all costs. This is why Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer dared the president to come before Congress and testify, per reports from Breitbart News.

Why Schumer Says Trump Should Testify

Like many other Democrats, the Senate Minority Leader is triggered by President Trump’s tweets. Schumer fears that in publishing the truth on social media, the president will continue to poke holes in the Democrats’ concerted efforts to rewrite the 2016 election results.

This is all deeply transparent, but nevertheless, Schumer attempted to reframe things in order to suit his own narratives. On Thursday, the Senate Minority Leader stood on the floor and called for Trump to “testify to what he tweets.” Schumer then followed up his remarks by stating that the president ought to “tell his side of the story” in order to “convince the American people and the House of Representatives.”

Finally, the Senate Minority Leader wrapped things up by stating that if the president declines to appear before the committee, then he must be hiding something.

Will the President Appear Before the Committee?

Thursday didn’t mark the first time that talk of Trump testifying has come up. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi mentioned it as well and the president publicly declared via Twitter that he’d consider it. Of course, Trump will likely speak with his lawyers and get counsel on whether or not providing oral or written testimony is a good idea.

Some Americans are urging Trump against testifying, stating that Democrats will twist his words to their own advantage. Many people in this country have not only expressed their exasperation with the bogus proceedings, but also noted the lengths which Democrats will employ to get what they want. No one believes that Schumer’s call for Trump to testify is merely because he wants the president to clear his name.
