Over the course of the 2020 presidential election, Democrats have fiercely campaigned and worked to outdo their competition. This has involved pointing fingers at one another, debating over whether the Democrat Party should embrace moderatism or progressivism, and so much more. Various contenders have also gone after one another at presidential primary debates and attempted to convince Americans of their worthiness to take on President Trump in 2020.
As the primary election goes on, the irrelevance of certain candidates is becoming more and more obvious. Now, each of the candidates has their own notions of who is relevant and who isn’t. Many of the Democrats would like to believe that they have a fighting chance of winning the nomination, despite polling in the lower single digits.
On Tuesday, a member of the Sanders campaign expressed his ideas on which candidates are still relevant in the primary election, as reported by Breitbart News.
A Deeper Look at the Primary Election
Rep. Ro Khanna, who also serves as an aide for the Bernie Sanders campaign, sat down for an interview with MSNBC which aired yesterday. In the interview, Khanna shared his thoughts on the current 2020 presidential election and which candidates he views as ultimately important in the primary season.
His statements read as follows:
“I think this race comes down to three people: Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Vice President Biden. They are consistently in the lead in the early states. They’ve got a strong showing in South Carolina, and I think ultimately, it will be one of those three.”
Bad News for the Democrat Party
Khanna may very well be right, but that’s not good news for the Democrat Party. Biden has somehow managed to maintain his status as the party’s frontrunner despite continuously making serious gaffes. These gaffes include mistaking the timeline for which he served as vice president and conflating race with poverty.
The truth of the matter is that despite how much Biden attempts to brand himself as moderate and relatable, he would still get shredded on a debate stage with President Trump.
Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren aren’t any better either. Both are extremely radical candidates who favor far-left policies which would decimate the United States of America as we know it. Some of the worst reforms which Sanders and Warren support are the Green New Deal, Medicare-for-All, and giving illegals free healthcare at the expense of American citizens.
Regardless of whether the Democrat Party gives Biden, Warren, or Sanders the nomination, President Trump will still emerge as the victor of the 2020 presidential election.
