Ron DeSantis is Just Getting Started

There is no doubt among conservatives that Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, is one of the most influential Republican leaders at the moment.

His leadership of Florida over the past almost-two years regarding COVID-19 has been nothing short of incredible; he managed the COVID-19 outbreak while keeping the state open and free.

As the future of the Republican Party is in question after the events of January 6th and the election of Joe Biden, however legitimate, the possibility of Donald Trump not running again is seemingly high. Ron DeSantis of Florida seems to be the name on most people’s lips as his possible successor.

It wouldn’t be the worst idea either. DeSantis just can’t seem to put a foot wrong. He has become a symbol of the Republican resistance against the anti-Trump propaganda and a bastion of conservatism in the seemingly ever liberal USA.

Will he run for president?

Should DeSantis decide to run, he would certainly enjoy an endorsement from Donald Trump and reap the rewards of that golden handshake. DeSantis is so similar to Trump in policy and even mannerisms that some say his more well-spoken demeanor even makes him a more desirable candidate. Time will tell if that is true.

“Let people live and thrive!” DeSantis uttered these words during a rally in Pittsburgh. At one point, DeSantis referred to the bizarrely cult-like following of whatever Dr. Fauci says, calling it “Fauci-ism.”

Florida is the New Home of Freedom

DeSantis seems desperate to turn Florida into a conservative bastion in the United States. This is something that is desperately needed, especially as the country is suffering under excessive government overreach under the Biden administration.

As a state that says no, legislates to enshrine conservative values, and stands up for what everyday Americans need, Florida is the new free world.

DeSantis Bans Gun Regulation by Local Governments

As if all the above was not enough to make you love Ron DeSantis, a bill he signed on May 7 (and taking effect on July 1) will see local governments pay up to $100K dollars in fines if they enforce firearm regulations. If any officials pass any regulation,s they can be fined or even removed.

This firm action to reinforce gun rights in the state is just part of a string of actions by DeSantis that further convince the country that he is the true successor of Donald Trump.

There are other great candidates out there, though, such as Ted Cruz and Mike Pompeo. This all depends on whether Donald Trump would run for re-election, however. Should he not run, It would certainly be interesting to see which of these great candidates would fare.
