2020 presidential candidates have reached a point where they’re preparing for the general election part of this race. As such, many candidates are running various ads and (in the case of Democrat contenders especially) answering questions about how they plan to face off against Trump in a general election.

Polls also play a role in the current events happening in this election. Certain polls have shown 2020 Democrats beating Trump, whereas others have displayed the president at a higher percentage than his hypothetical opponent. Contrary to what certain folks have been lead to believe, polls are not always reliable; it’s very easy to survey more Democrats than Republicans in order to manipulate the data and promote a certain narrative.
On Sunday, Pete Buttigieg sat down for an ABC interview, according to Breitbart News. During this time, the South Bend mayor responded to a TV ad which President Trump’s campaign ran during last week’s World Series. Buttigieg ultimately wound up deeming the president as a “failure even on his own terms,” when asked about his perception of the pro-Trump ad.
An Overview of Buttigieg’s Remarks on Trump
Last night’s ABC interview entailed Buttigieg speaking with host George Stephanopoulos; the latter kicked off talks by asking the 2020 Democrat about his perception of Trump’s aforementioned TV ad. Stephanopoulos even took the liberty of playing a clip of the ad which showcases President Trump’s various accomplishments.
See for yourself:
After playing part of the ad, the ABC TV host noted that even certain left-wing campaign strategists have branded the ad as “pretty effective.” However, when Buttigieg was asked about his perception of what he witnessed, the 2020 Democrat had a very different reaction.
Per Buttigieg’s own words, he believes the ad ran during the World Series attempted to place “a tough guy coating on a very weak individual.” The South Bend mayor then continued, claiming that Trump breathed new life into ISIS and was played by Turkey. Finally, after claiming that the president lacks the ability to “make a decision and stick to it,” Buttigieg stated that he’s “ready” for 2020 and slammed Trump as a failure.
More on Buttigieg’s Assessment of Trump
Buttigieg’s assertion that Trump is a “failure” is actually quite interesting; this assessment is coming from an individual who is barely treading water in the 2020 presidential election. Since the inception of Buttigieg’s time as a Democrat candidate, he’s never once risen to the status of a leading contender.

Despite the mediocrity of Buttigieg’s campaign, he hasn’t hesitated to repeatedly take aim at Trump and his supporters. The South Bend mayor is on record as stating that the president is a white nationalist; he’s also been quoted as claiming that Americans who vote for Trump are “looking the other way on racism at best.”
Buttigieg might do well to improve the status of his own campaign before deciding that this president is a “failure.”
