Pelosi Shuts Down Talks of Impeaching Trump

Since the release of the Mueller probe, Democrats have made their eagerness to impeach President Trump more than apparent.
However, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi isn’t on board with this. Apparently, Pelosi believes that the time to impeach President Trump isn’t yet here, according to Fox News.

Pelosi on Impeachment

The House Speaker has previously stated that impeaching the president would be too divisive and simply “not worth it.” During a conference call with Democrats, Pelosi explained the reasoning behind her decision on this matter:

“We don’t have to go to articles of impeachment to obtain the facts, the presentation of facts. There are many ways to hold the president of the United States accountable. This is about being totally free from passion, from prejudice, from politics It’s about the presentation of the facts, and when we have the facts, we’ll have a better idea about how we go forward.”

Yesterday, Pelosi expressed her belief that only a select number of Democrats are eager to impeach the president.

A Rift Amongst Democrats?

It appears as though many members of the Democrat Party do not share Pelosi’s outlook on impeaching the president. Democrats are overwhelmingly more concerned about sticking it to Trump than they are about the so-called “presentation of facts.”
If Democrats truly cared about “the presentation of facts,” they wouldn’t have spent so long claiming that Trump colluded with the Russian government, despite having no evidence of such. Fact-motivated Democrats would spend their time compromising and working with the president instead of digging through his tax returns.
The fact of the matter is that Democrats have made no secret of what they stand for and where their priorities are. The few Democrats who may share Pelosi’s outlook on impeachment are the exception, not the rule.
