Pelosi: I'll Send Impeachment Articles "When I'm Ready!"

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has repeatedly come under fire for her management of impeachment proceedings against the current president.

During the earlier times of 2019, Pelosi declared that impeachment should only take place with compelling, overwhelming, and bipartisan support; however, the two impeachment articles which House Democrats rammed through are flimsy, weak, and hyper-partisan. In fact, the impeachment sham is so weak that even certain Democrat representatives voted ‘present’ or against the articles.

As the Speaker continues to take heat for hoarding impeachment articles, she’s facing more and more questions about when she plans to hand them over. Yesterday, however, Pelosi informed that nation that she’ll turn over the articles to the Senate “when [she’s] ready.”

Additional reports from Breitbart News confirm that the House Speaker made these comments during her weekly press conference.

A Review of Pelosi’s Admission

Yesterday, one of the reporters who attended the Speaker’s weekly press conference asked if she planned to “indefinitely” sit on the articles.

Curtly, Pelosi responded by stating that she’ll “send them over when [she’s] ready” and that this time will “probably be soon.” The Speaker’s decision not to transfer the articles to the Senate comes after weeks of her claiming that impeachment is urgent and must take place as quickly as possible.

The longer Pelosi hoards the articles, the worse it looks for her. She’s being accused of everything from a quid-pro-quo to attempting to pressure moderate GOP senators into supporting impeachment. While Republicans are the fiercest critics of her refusal to turn over the articles, even some Senate Democrats are tiring of the nonsense.

Earlier this week, three Democrat senators and one Independent encouraged the Speaker to give the impeachment articles to the Senate for a trial.

How the Senate Should Proceed

Pelosi’s refusal to transfer impeachment articles and desperation to manipulate the Senate is absolutely ridiculous. The upper chamber of Congress shouldn’t stand for this any longer though; there needs to be a strict date set in place as a deadline for the latest time the Speaker can send over the articles.

As Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has stated on numerous occasions, Pelosi does not harbor power or control over the Senate. By attempting to determine how the Senate conducts a trial, the Speaker is overstepping her bounds and further proving that the impeachment sham has always been about political games.

Pelosi isn’t serious and so, therefore, it’s time for the Senate to not allow these games to continue for a moment longer.
