Americans with character and decency are able to recognize just how problematic social media censorship is. Unfortunately, conservatives have been forced to endure this type of censorship on massive levels since the election of President Trump. The left-wing, to this day, remains in shock over Trump’s victory. They never believed that he would win the 2016 presidential election with the media and other forces conspiring against him.
Now, with the 2020 presidential election upon us, Democrats are eager to employ every strategy they can concoct. One of these strategies involves censoring conservatives under the guise of cracking down on “hate speech.”
Left-wing presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke openly endorsed online censorship while speaking with MSNBC on Wednesday, reports Breitbart News. O’Rourke also took his statements further, claiming that internet service providers should block access to certain websites.
Reviewing O’Rourke’s Endorsement of Online Censorship
It should come as a shock to no one that O’Rourke wants online censorship to be enforced by big government. After all, the Democrats love employing the government for various causes, especially bullying conservatives and others who dissent from the left-wing.
As such, O’Rourke directly championed the employment of “new legislation, new regulations, and really vigorous enforcement” to block online “hate speech” and do away with access to sites deemed undesirable.
O’Rourke’s statements are problematic on multiple levels. First and foremost, using the government to block online speech would inevitably go wrong on multiple counts. Secondly, who gets to be the arbitrator of what’s “hateful?” Time and time again, Americans have seen that Democrats are the most hateful ones of all.
Think about it: AntiFa, a leftist hate group, are the ones who put on masks and terrorize Trump supporters at rallies. Democrats are also the ones who accuse any and everyone who disagrees with them of racism. The truth of the matter is that if O’Rourke got his way, the government would essentially bar conservatives from speaking online and criticizing the radical leftist extremism which is threatening this great nation.

Time and time again, O’Rourke has shown Americans that he’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer. He’s referred to President Trump as a racist and a white supremacist on multiple occasions; O’Rourke even went as far to say that the president should not visit survivors of the recent El Paso shooting. Now, he’s openly calling for legislation which censors online speech.
