Canadian parents are taking a stand. A growing grassroots movement is encouraging families to boycott schools nationwide during upcoming Pride events, as many say the education system has become a vehicle for radical ideology—not learning
Wave of Opposition Gains Ground
From May 30 to June 2, thousands of Canadian parents are expected to keep their children home during school Pride flag ceremonies as part of the third annual National “Pride” Flag Walk-Out Day.
Organizers are urging participants to attend “pray-ins” at schools and public buildings, symbolizing a peaceful but firm rejection of Pride symbols and sexualized content being promoted in schools, even in some Catholic institutions.
The message is clear: education should focus on reading, writing, and arithmetic—not sexual and gender ideology.
Misinformation and Mislabeling Fuel Debate
Some controversy was sparked when AI-generated images of satanic-themed Pride merchandise went viral, claiming Target sold children’s clothes with demonic symbols. Fact-checkers confirmed the images were fake and created by artist Dan Reese using AI.

Target publicly stated, “Target has never sold these items,” and clarified that certain Pride products were only removed last year due to threats to employee safety, not because of their content.
Despite the debunked imagery, the movement remains focused on removing Pride symbols and curriculum from classrooms, which many parents feel are inappropriate, misleading, and out of step with their values.
Parents Demand Schools Get Back to Basics
Organizers behind the walk-out have published guides for parents to contact school boards, write formal complaints, and organize local protest activities. They are calling for traditional education to take priority over activist-driven instruction.

The walk-out represents a growing wave of resistance from families across Canada who believe schools are overstepping their role by exposing young children to gender theory, sexual content, and political symbolism under the banner of inclusivity.
For many, this is not just about Pride month—it’s about protecting children from what they view as age-inappropriate ideology.
As the movement grows, school officials will have to answer a pressing question from parents: When did education stop being about education?
