Kirsten Gillibrand Slams President Trump Over "Broken Promises"

It’s already been established that going after President Trump, as opposed to putting forth meaningful reform, is the dominant strategy of the Democrat Party. Progressive candidates, House caucus members and other candidates within the party have done this time and time again. It signifies a certain desperation to prove oneself…and ironically, this is what Hillary Clinton did when she ran against Trump in 2016.

At this point in the game, it’s become more than obvious that the only way Democrats believe they can win an election is by tearing down their competition. Kirsten Gillibrand, one of the two dozen Democrats running for the White House, is no exception to this pattern, as documented by Fox News.

A Closer Look at Gillibrand’s Claims

The 2020 candidate accuses the president of breaking promises in a 30-second television campaign ad. Throughout the ad, Gillibrand has clips from 2016 where then-candidate Trump made various promises about ways in which he would better the nation.

Ultimately, the ad asserts that the president failed to make good on vows to improve U.S. infrastructure, lessening the costs of prescription drugs, and bringing back manufacturing jobs. The ad then concludes with the words “NO MORE BROKEN PROMISES” before Gillibrand appears in a voiceover and states: “as president, I will take on the fights no one else will.”

A Closer Look at Kirsten Gillibrand’s Campaign

Ultimately, Kirsten Gillibrand has struggled since launching her 2020 presidential campaign. There are many other Democrats in the race and competition is fierce. The fact that many other candidates have more name recognition than Gillibrand hasn’t helped her cause either. However, Gillibrand still remains in the race and is publicly expressing confidence in her ability to become the next president of the United States.

Gillibrand may be a new presidential candidate, but Americans have seen this game play out time and time again. When election season comes around, Democrats make all these grand promises about what they’re going to do. They promote themselves as the ones who will save America, if only the people of this country elect them into office. Once they win and once election season is over, it’s back to business as usual. Gillibrand’s ad attack on Trump is merely a way for her to get her name out there and attract some political momentum for the sake of her struggling campaign.
