With Trump out of the White House, reports have circulated that members of his family should and possibly might seek public offices of their own. On multiple lists of favored 2024 GOP contenders, Donald Trump Jr.’s name appears, as does his father’s.
Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law to the 45th president, is also possibly a future candidate for public office. Trump has openly discussed running for Senate in North Carolina to fill the seat of soon-to-be-retired Sen. Richard Burr. Burr informed back in 2016 that he wouldn’t run for another term in 2022, once his term stops.
The name of Ivanka Trump, daughter of the former president, has also come up. Speculations arose that she may challenge GOP Sen. Marco Rubio to win a Senate seat in Florida. However, Breitbart News confirms that the former first daughter will not run for office next year.
Senator Ivanka Trump?
Rumors that Trump may seek a Florida Senate seat arrived close to the time that she, her husband, and children made plans to relocate to the Sunshine State. The now-former first daughter’s move to Florida comes after her time in Washington D.C. and work for her father as a personal adviser.

Now, in order for Ivanka Trump to become a Florida senator, she’d have to challenge current Sen. Marco Rubio in the primary election next year. Rubio spokesperson Nick Iacovella confirmed this week that the former first daughter spoke with the Florida senator awhile back, expressing her support for his re-election campaign.
An aide for Trump also confirms the conversation between the former first daughter and present Florida senator. Trump views Rubio as a friend of hers, while Rubio is thankful for the friendships and the work they did together under the Trump administration.
The 2022 Midterm Races
Next year’s 2022 midterm elections will be a pretty big deal. Although Ivanka Trump won’t be running for Senate, there are several Republicans up for re-election. The trajectory of these races will play a major role in whether Republicans regain the majority or if Democrats expand their current Senate majority.
On Day 1, President Biden canceled the Keystone pipeline and put thousands of Americans out of work.

Midterm races in 2022 will also play a role in the House of Representatives. Right now, House Republicans are on the precipice of becoming the majority party again. Already, GOP congressional organizations are drawing up plans to regain the majority, hence removing Nancy Pelosi from the House Speaker position.
