President Donald Trump is currently considering taking military action in Venezuela, according to new reports from The Daily Caller News Foundation.
The Possibility of Military Action in Venezuela
At this time, Venezuela is currently undergoing a very serious crisis. Due to years of living under a socialist society, the people of Venezuela have gradually experienced the downfall of their economy, decreases in their quality of life, and serious reductions in access to critical resources.
President Trump has spoken out about the humanitarian crisis which currently exists in Venezuela:
“That was the wealthiest country in all of that part of the world, which is a very important part of the world. Now you look at the poverty and you look at the anguish and you look at the crime and you look at all of the things happening. So I think the process is playing out…very, very big tremendous protests.”
At this time, the people of Venezuela are also resisting Nicolas Maduro, their president. Due to the situation happening in the country, Guaido, the president of the National Assembly of Venezuela, is working to bring democracy back to Venezuela. Unfortunately, this attempt is proving to be challenging since Maduro still maintains considerable power over the Venezuelan military.
On Sunday, President Trump affirmed that while he doesn’t want to guarantee that U.S. military intervention will occur in Venezuela, it’s certainly an “option.”
