The White House coronavirus task force is comprised of a series of individuals. Some of these individuals hold a medical background, a feature that can be valuable in halting the spread of coronavirus. At the forefront of the coronavirus task force are Doctors Deborah Birx and Anthony Fauci.
Now, while both doctors’ presence in the limelight has increased scrutiny, many Americans are taking issue with Fauci, as certain outlets have eagerly reported. Issues with Fauci pertain to his questionable statements; some examples include claiming that America may not return to normal without a vaccine and previous flip-flops on the severity of COVID-19.
The Problem with Dr. Anthony Fauci
Here’s the reality when it comes to Fauci; not a single person in this country voted for or elected him into office. Fauci does not get to make calls on when America reopens. Despite the doctor’s medical expertise, he is not an economist and doesn’t get to determine when our country returns to normal.

Listening to Fauci’s advice on keeping America closed has resulted in rampant unemployment, the decimation of businesses, increasing social unrest, and violations of constitutional rights, such as the right to peaceably assemble.

Fauci has furthermore contradicted himself multiple times regarding COVID-19. On February 29, the doctor claimed that Americans didn’t need to change their daily lives to fight coronavirus. Then, this past Sunday, Fauci claimed that coronavirus fatalities could’ve been lessened if restrictive measures went into effect prior to the middle of March.

In spite of certain existing narratives, Fauci is not above censure simply because he’s a doctor. Americans should listen closely and pay attention to what’s happening; then we must call out instances where things don’t make sense or add up.
Fauci has consistently ignored and downplayed the need to reopen America. Right now, our nation is at a critical point where shutdowns truly cannot last for much longer. The economic fallout is not worth a virus that has a recovery rate of over 90%. As Americans, we have to push back and ensure that our rights and civil liberties are not trampled upon.
