Don Jr. Spars with 'The View'

Earlier this week, first son Donald Trump Jr. came out with a new book titled Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us. The book is already flying off shelves and being discussed by many.

Throughout the pages, Don Jr. covers the accusations against his father, the dishonesty of the media, the perils of socialism and so much more. In order to promote his book, the first son is making tour appearances and giving various interviews.

On Thursday, Don Jr., along with Kimberly Guilfoyle convened with The View hosts in order to discuss Triggered; however, the interview quickly turned into a dumpster fire. All five cohosts (Whoopi Goldberg, Meghan McCain, Sunny Hostin, Abby Hunstman, and Joy Behar) took aim at the first son and his girlfriend by making statements and insinuations which simply weren’t accurate.

In keeping with the title of his book, Don Jr. “triggered” The View’s hosts on multiple occasions, per reports from Breitbart News.

Everything to Know About Don Jr. vs. The View

The interview largely kicked off with questions about the Ukraine scandal and impeachment. Hostin challenged the first son on assertions that the impeachment sham is, in fact, a sham. Don Jr. and Guilfoyle responded to Hostin by explaining that President Trump didn’t withhold any aid from the Ukraine government in exchange for a probe into Biden.

Shortly thereafter, Meghan McCain stated that the first family has caused a lot of Americans “pain.” After asking if Don Jr. felt “happy,” about that, the first son defended himself and his family. He noted that while he’s not happy about the “pain” that certain individuals feel, there are many others in this country who have benefited from his father’s policies and presidency. Finally, Don Jr. pointed out that Trump is a “counterpuncher” and will strike back when he’s attacked.

Ultimately, the interview basically turned out to be The View’s cohosts taking aim at Don Jr. and Guilfoyle. They didn’t even get around to asking questions about the first son’s book, which was the original purpose for him coming on the show. At one point, Behar admonished the audience for cheering for the first son, stating “this isn’t a MAGA rally.”

Go figure.

Civility in Politics

The events which transpired yesterday during Don Jr.’s appearance on The View are not shocking by any stretch of the imagination. The cohosts behaved exactly as expected, considering that they’ve previously disparaged members of the Trump family when they weren’t there to defend themselves.

Multiple cohosts on the show also brought up talk about civility in politics; however, as noted by Kimberly Guilfoyle, civility is a two-way street. Leftists can’t ask the right-wing to be kind to them as they conduct witch hunts against the president and wage war against any American who dares to support him.
