The Democratic National Committee is turning on one of its loudest activists. In a move that exposes deep fractures inside the party, DNC leaders are taking steps to remove anti-gun activist David Hogg from his Vice Chair position — all because he dared to challenge their establishment agenda.
Internal Revolt: DNC Moves to Strip Hogg of Power
The DNC’s credentials committee just passed a resolution to re-run the Vice Chair election that put Hogg and Malcolm Kenyatta in power. This decision follows claims of “procedural irregularities” in the February election, with critics alleging that the vote unfairly advantaged male candidates.
DNC Chair Ken Martin admitted the issue, saying, “I was disappointed to learn that before I became Chair, there was a procedural error.” But behind the polite language is a clear message: David Hogg is no longer welcome at the top of the Democratic Party.
The re-vote will only include candidates from the original election — a move that specifically targets Hogg without opening the race to new voices.
Hogg’s Reform Agenda Sparks Party Backlash
David Hogg has been anything but quiet since taking office.

He openly declared war on the Democrat establishment, using his group “Leaders We Deserve” to launch primary challenges against sitting Democrats. The group plans to spend $20 million to oust incumbents who don’t meet Hogg’s far-left purity test.
The DNC wasn’t amused.
Party Chair Martin slammed Hogg’s approach: “When you lead the institution tasked with calling the balls and strikes, you don’t get to also swing the bat.” In other words, Hogg broke the cardinal rule — he went after his own team.

Reformers vs. Establishment: The Democrat Civil War
This fight isn’t just about David Hogg — it’s about a party divided against itself.
Hogg, famous for his gun control activism after the Parkland shooting, says the party needs new blood and bold action to beat Donald Trump. But longtime Democrats say Hogg is reckless, inexperienced, and more interested in Twitter drama than winning elections.
Critics also warn that his confrontational style and obsession with primaries weaken the party ahead of 2026, when Democrats will be battling to hold onto power in Congress.
Now, as the DNC prepares for a possible re-vote, Hogg and his allies say they’re being “disenfranchised” — ironic for a movement that claims to represent democracy and transparency.
