Fresh Wave of Migrants Storm US Border

The other week, Border Patrol agents from the Rio Grande Valley Sector captured four big groups of migrants.

685 migrants were classified into four groups, and the majority of them were single adults.

The Details

Officer Brian Hastings of the Rio Grande Valley Division Chief Patrol posted photographs of huge groups of migrants arrested after crossing the border illegally from Mexico.

Three other human smuggling events were also discovered by the chief’s officers.

The four large-group arrests occurred near Starr County, Texas. That was one of the nation’s biggest border crossing places.

Four sizable groups were encountered by Rio Grande City Station agents executing a line course along the border.

According to statistics collected from Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol officials, the 685 captured migrants comprised 424 single people, 190 family units, and 71 orphaned kids.

The migratory groups were vetted and recognized as citizens of other countries from Central and South America, Asia, as well as the Caribbean, by the authorities.

Agents from the Weslaco Station discovered ten migrants in a car after an accident on May 5 in another part of the area. The motorist tried to escape, but lost control and smashed into a fence, according to the agents.

On foot, the migrants and smugglers sought to leave. Agents apprehended them and established that all of them, such as the driver, were in the country illegally. One migrant was taken to the hospital with cuts and bruises.

The migrant was later released to the agents by the physicians.

Kingsville Depot agents saw a strange car in a known trafficking area the same day. They requested assistance from the Kenedy Sheriffs Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The Jeep was stopped by a sheriff’s deputy, but the driver failed to stop. After tire deflating devices were actually launched, a chase ensued.

Officials stated several migrants escaped on foot.

Five migrants and the driver, a U.S. citizen, were arrested by agents. The driver was apprehended by a sheriff’s officer and will face accusations of people smuggling and failing to yield.

Authorities on duty near San Manuel tried to halt a Hyundai Accent for an immigrant interrogation that night. The driver decided to continue and attacked the officers. The driver soon came to a halt, and the passengers jumped out and ran into the brush.

The agents conducted a check of the area and arrested four migrants. The motorist managed to evade arrest.

According to officials, 705 migrants were arrested as a result of these instances.

Drama in New York

Border Agents from the Swanton Sector worked with local police departments and first services to save a group of Indian nationals crossing the Saint Regis Rivers between Canada into New York.

Their loaded vessel started to sink into the icy water.

According to data collected from Swanton Sector Border Patrol authorities, Massena Station Border Patrol agents collaborated with the St. Regis Tribal Police Force, the Akwesasne Mohawk Law Enforcement, and the Hogansburg-Akwesasne Rescue Squad (HAVFD) to save the migrants.
