As America reopens, the Democrat Party has continued to push the narrative that citizens should be mandated to wear face masks. Despite coronavirus’ impact on a very small minority of the population, the left maintains that masks should be obligatory whether people like it or not.
As per usual though, Democrats are all about issuing rules for others while failing to abide by these practices. In recent days, top-level Democrats calling for people to cover their faces have been seen out and about with no masks on, reports Breitbart News.
At this point, the left’s failure to abide by their own rules doesn’t come as a shock; however, it does speak to the unfortunate hypocrisy of the left.
“Do As I Say, Not As I Do!”
Some leading Democrats to demand Americans wear face masks while failing to do so themselves are failed 2020 candidate Beto O’Rourke and Virginia Governor Ralph Northam.
After Texas Governor Greg Abbott took measures to gradually re-engage the state’s economy, unsuccessful presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke branded the decision as “dumb, dangerous, and weak” on Twitter.
Following this tweet, someone posted a photograph of O’Rourke out and about without a mask and apparently getting some exercise in.

On Sunday, Gov. Northam traveled to the Virginia Beach boardwalk to get some fresh air and take selfies with fans. Not only did Northam not wear a mask, but the Virginia governor also failed to social distance. All the while, residents of Virginia remain under orders to wear face masks, but apparently their governor is exempt from this.

O’Rourke and Northam are only two of the latest examples, but they represent the Democrat Party. The left has no problem with issuing these blatant restrictions which infringe on civil liberties and then failing to abide by their own decrees.
While the cheap sanctimony couldn’t be any more nauseating, it serves as a prime example of why Democrats should be kept as far away from power as possible.
