Democrats’ Gun Control Agenda Slammed During Congressional Floor Debate

Last month, President Biden instructed Democrat lawmakers to move forward with anti-gun bills. Biden could possibly be one of the most anti-Second Amendment presidents in the country’s history; at each and every turn, Biden has backed legislation that would punish lawful gun owners and firearm ownership.

Democrats in Congress are all too eager to press forward with gun control reform. Right now, Biden has a blank check on policy with Democrats leading both the Senate and the House; unless Republicans take back either the House or Senate next November, Biden’s blank check will last throughout his presidency.

Yesterday, however, one House Republican spoke during the congressional floor debate and issued a stern warning for Democrats seeking to infringe upon Second Amendment rights, Breitbart News confirms.

Rep. Madison Cawthorn on Democrats’ Gun Control Agenda

The North Carolina Republican representative spoke clearly and concisely yesterday. Cawthorn declared that Americans are within their rights to purchase firearms for legal means. He then explained that when Americans say “come and take in” in reference to their firearms, they’re not kidding around.

Rep. Cawthorn’s remarks on the congressional floor didn’t stop there, though. The North Carolina lawmaker warned Democrats that the “bastardization of the Constitution” will not stand; this came before Cawthorn’s note that the “D.C. bubble” is not indicative of where Americans stand on gun rights and gun ownership.

The Timing of the Remarks

The timing of Rep. Cawthorn’s statements is very much in keeping with the upcoming fight for the Second Amendment.

Biden has already clearly declared the anti-gun measures he’d like to see become law. Just a few of these measures include increased liabilities for gun manufacturers, universal background checks, and longer waiting periods for gun and ammunition purchases.

In a nutshell, Democrats seek to make gun ownership as difficult as possible. On the 2020 campaign trail, Biden also talked about taxing the guns that Americans already own. By all accounts, the left strives to erase the Second Amendment gradually and legislatively.

On Wednesday, Rep. Cawthorn made clear that he won’t stand for this. Many other Americans throughout the nation also hold similar sentiments. Gun owners cherish their Second Amendment rights and are therefore willing to defend them.
