Presumptive Democrat nominee Joe Biden couldn’t be in a less well-off place with his own party.
Despite the former vice president outlasting all of his Democrat rivals, many on the left still question whether he has what it takes to face President Trump. Over the course of Biden’s campaign, he’s challenged voters to pushup contests, called reporters names, and made countless verbal errors.

To top it all off, Biden remains the subject of a graphic rape allegation; last month, former Senate staffer Tara Reade alleged that the former vice president forced her against a wall and penetrated her with his fingers in 1993. Biden’s campaign has rejected these claims as untrue.
Nevertheless, a new Club for Growth poll confirms that most Democrats are eager for a nominee other than Joe Biden, per The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Who Do Democrats Want as their Nominee?

According to the aforementioned poll, 56% of Democrats would rather nominate New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to face President Trump, rather than Joe Biden. This new report comes amidst Cuomo’s management of the coronavirus. Thus far, over eight out of ten New Yorkers approve of their governor’s response to the COVID-19 health crisis.

By contrast, only 44% of polled Democrats favor keeping Biden as the presumptive nominee. The former vice president’s campaign has taken significant hits following coronavirus.
Since the emergence of COVID-19, Biden chose to host campaign events and give interviews from his Delaware home; however, the presumptive Democrat nominee has struggled with attracting sizable amounts of viewers. Likewise exists Biden’s struggle to raise campaign funds from small-dollar donors.

Will Cuomo Replace Biden?

It turns out that Democrat voters will most likely be stuck with Biden unless new developments arise very soon. Thus far, Cuomo has given no indication that he plans to run for president of the United States.

However, the New York governor does continue to promote the social distancing measures being taken in New York; according to Cuomo, these measures are flattening the curve and reducing the spread of COVID-19.
