As a matter of fact, California Governor Gavin Newsom has some very strict recommendations for elderly members of the Golden State this past weekend. Breitbart News reports Newsom’s claims that anyone older than 65 ought to stay home, along with other folks who are most vulnerable to coronavirus. Likewise, additional Americans are being urged to stay at home if at all possible.

The California governor’s latest urge to senior citizens comes on the heels of his past praise of Trump’s steps to counteract COVID-19.

Newsom on Why the Elderly Should Stay Home

In a nutshell, Newsom’s argument asserts that social distancing is one of the best strategies for working against coronavirus. Not only did the California governor advise elderly people not to leave their houses, but he also promoted the closure of various public venues, such as nightclubs, breweries, wineries, and bars. Taking to social media, Newsom stated that people who frequent restaurants should order take-out, rather than dining in.

Despite his statements, elderly people in California are not being confined to their homes. What’s more is that the elderly population in the Golden State surpasses more than five million individuals; expecting each and every one of these people to remain in their homes, especially when they’re well and not infected by COVID-19, is simply not going to happen.

Developments on the Fight Against Coronavirus

The fight against coronavirus remains underway as Washington lawmakers attempt to reach common ground. Some of the greatest priorities include ensuring that Americans have access to coronavirus testing and the provision of economic relief for individuals impacted by the major shutdown of various businesses.

As this week continues, the impacts of coronavirus, its recoveries, and potential new shutdowns will definitely have an impact. During this time, everyone is encouraged to practice reasonable safety precautions against coronavirus; these precautions include good hygiene, frequent handwashing, cleaning dirty surfaces, staying home when sick, etc.
