The continuation of the Senate impeachment trial is forcing Democrats to come to terms with some truths.
One of those truths is that the left won’t be able to browbeat the upper chamber into doing what Democrats want. At this time, the Senate remains under Republican control; therefore, the GOP will ultimately determine whether or not the president remains in office. Due to Trump’s strong favorability amongst Republicans and the lack of evidence against him, he’s not going anywhere.

As Democrats realize this, they’re making no bones about lashing out at GOP senators. Leftists continue to attack the character and moral fiber of Republicans, stating that their only way of proving themselves is to vote to remove President Trump.
On Friday, former South Bend mayor and 2020 Democrat Pete Buttigieg admitted that he feels “disgusted” with Republicans in the Senate, as documented by Washington Examiner.
Why Buttigieg Feels Disgusted by the GOP Senate
During a town hall, the Democrat candidate informed supporters that he relates to Americans who are overwhelmed by news of the Senate impeachment trial. Buttigieg explained that despite “[living] and [breathing]” politics, he feels exhausted with news of the impeachment process. However, despite his claims of exhaustion, the former South Bend mayor made sure to lash out at Republican senators.
Like other Democrats, Buttigieg is upset that the GOP Senate will not bend to the will of impeachment-obsessed leftists. After opining that Republicans are fostering feelings of “helplessness or hopelessness,” Buttigieg seized the opportunity to promote his own campaign.
The ex-South Bend mayor told his town hall attendees that if they feel as “disgusted” with the Republican Senate as he does, then they should “do something about it” by supporting him.
Standing Up to Congressional Democrats
As the Senate impeachment trial continues, it’s imperative for Republicans to not allow Congressional Democrats to dictate how the upper chamber handles business.
The reality here is that Democrats forced their impeachment sham through the House; then, they sat on impeachment papers for weeks, hoping that this would give them leverage over the Senate’s then-forthcoming trial. Finally, they were forced to hand over the articles, gaining no concession from the Senate whatsoever.

Standing up to Congressional Democrats matters because they have abused their positions and bastardized the impeachment process. Trump never obstructed justice or abused power, nor did he ever push for a quid-pro-quo. Every honest individual in America knows that Democrats have wanted the president out of office since the moment he arrived.
The inevitable acquittal of President Trump sends a strong message that false accusations and conspiracies do not win in the United States.
