Bloomberg Makes Mockery of Gun Ownership

The Second Amendment clearly states that the American people have the right to keep and bear arms. Sadly, Democrats continue their crusade to chip away at the Second Amendment, little by little; each time we turn around, the left is calling for more useless gun control measures, in addition to finding other ways to question the sanctity and validity of the Second Amendment.

During yesterday night’s CNN town hall, 2020 Democrat Mike Bloomberg discouraged everyday Americans from owning guns. As a matter of fact, the former New York City mayor even declared that people across the nation don’t truly want to keep guns in their homes, as noted by Breitbart News.

Of course, this instance does not mark the first time that Bloomberg has chosen to make a mockery of gun ownership. Months ago, the businessman declared that people who care to have firearms in their homes are “stupid.”

Ironically, Bloomberg’s latest disparaging remarks about gun ownership came roughly 24 hours after he stood on the South Carolina debate stage and claimed that only his campaign can attract moderate Republican voters.

A Review of Bloomberg’s Thoughts on Gun Ownership

At the town hall event, the former mayor turned 2020 Democrat declared that having a gun in one’s home makes them “22 times more likely” to perish because of that gun. At no point whatsoever, did he list any sources to solidify this claim; however, Bloomberg did proceed and go on to state that “accidents,” “domestic violence,” and children who play around in homes are each reasons why gun ownership is ill-advised.

The audacity of Bloomberg telling Americans “you don’t want to have guns” is eyebrow-raising. However, it also goes to show how little Democrats truly think about the people of this country. Moreover, Bloomberg, like other leftists, doesn’t believe that Americans have what it takes to make the right judgment calls for themselves.

Still, in light of the 2020 Democrat’s previous assertions that gun owners are stupid, last night’s condescension towards those who keep firearms shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone.

“Do As I Say, Not As I Do.”

Bloomberg’s stance on guns couldn’t be more hypocritical or untrue. Remember, the “you don’t want to have guns,” and “if you want to keep guns in your home, I think you’re stupid” talking points are coming from a man who is surrounded by bodyguards with guns on a daily basis.

In layman’s terms, Bloomberg is more than comfortable with preaching about the horrors of guns while he enjoys their protection; yet he doesn’t believe that everyday Americans also reserve the right to protect themselves from harm. This is not a man who should be anywhere near the presidency or the White House.
