Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been under constant attacks from Democrats. Somewhere along the line, the left decided that those who uphold the immigration laws of the land are evil. As a result of this newfound, radical position, various well-known Democrats have called for the abolition of ICE.
However, abolishing ICE is only the beginning of the extreme, anti-American position which the left has adopted, as it pertains to immigration. In addition to calling for the end of ICE, Democrats are also all for decriminalizing the act of illegally crossing the border.

As the old saying goes, there’s an exception to every rule; in this particular case, 2020 Democrat Joe Biden is the exception, or at least he’s trying to make himself out to be. Reports from the Washington Examiner confirm that Biden doesn’t favor abolishing ICE, but rather “reforming” it.
Why Does Biden Want to “Reform” ICE?
On Friday, the former vice president spent time speaking with members of the press in Concord, New Hampshire. During this time, Biden talked about ICE and the issues which he believes are rampant within the agency.
Unlike other members of his party, Biden cites “the policies behind ICE” as the issue at hand, rather than the agency itself. After sharing his take with reporters, the 2020 Democrat declared that having a president who knows what they’re doing will allow for the reformation of ICE. Furthermore, it’s unclear exactly how Biden plans to “reform” ICE or why he views the enforcement of legal immigration as problematic.
Biden’s position on ICE marks a stark contrast from in-party rival Bernie Sanders. Unlike Biden, Sanders is all in favor of pulling funds from the agency and openly calls to reward illegal aliens for their criminal activity. Immigration reform and ICE are not the only policies where Biden and Sanders differ; while Sanders champions Medicare-for-All, Biden wants to build upon Obamacare.
The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing
Biden and Sanders may differ on how they wish to approach ICE, but they are both antagonistic forces against legal immigration. Democrats have a pattern of repeatedly accusing the agency of human rights violations and coming up with every excuse in the book to justify illegal border crossings.

As the 2020 presidential election continues, Americans should prepare for more anti-ICE rhetoric from the Democrat Party. Biden is saying one thing now, but as the political scene gets more intense, it won’t be shocking if he too amps up his censure of ICE, even if that entails calling for the dismantlement of the agency altogether.
