During the Trump administration, critics accused the 45th president of putting “kids in cages” and unfair treatment of migrant children. These critics did not mention that the cages were built under the Obama administration, although that’s beside the point.
There’s a new administration in the White House and this administration is now ironically facing similar censure. Despite working to tear down Trump’s border wall and essentially nixing immigration laws, Biden is still catching heat.
Under the Biden administration, migrant children at the U.S. Southern border are arriving in droves. It now appears that Biden is handling this by taking a page out of Obama’s book, confirms Washington Examiner.
Kids in Cages on Biden’s Watch
At this time, hundreds and even thousands of migrant children are consistently arriving at the nation’s Southern border.
As a matter of fact, the number of children arriving is beginning to overwhelm the capacity of various facilities; hence, considerable amounts of migrant kids are now being housed at tent facilities run by Border Patrol. New emergency facilities in Texas are even being opened to accommodate the growing numbers of migrant children arriving at the border.

Criticism against the Biden administration for its treatment of children at the border isn’t mutually exclusive to the right-wing either. House Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke out against the Biden administration earlier this week, stating that detainment of children is immoral, despite who is in the White House.
Right now, Biden appears eager to dodge the increasingly negative press that this situation is bringing to his administration. Jen Psaki, the current press secretary for the Biden White House, has also worked to do damage control on this issue.
Just the Beginning
With more migrant children arriving at the U.S. Southern border, eyes are going to continue to be on Biden like never before. The issue of how kids are treated in immigration facilities is not going to just disappear or go away.

On Sunday, former President Trump will deliver remarks at the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference. During his speech, the 45th president is expected to call out Biden, notably the means by which Biden is handling immigration reform and children at the U.S. Southern border.
