The Democrat Party has established a track record of opposing a true return to normal. In 2020, Democrat governors were the first to implement the harshest shutdowns; even now in 2021, Democrat leaders across the nation are reluctant and resistant against lifting mandates and restrictions.
Keeping businesses shut down, confining Americans to their homes, and ruining people’s lives has made Democrats feel more powerful than ever. They, therefore, have no interest in giving up this power; this explains why Democrats are ushering in vaccine passports to have every U.S. citizen permanently under the thumb of big government.
Just yesterday, President Biden came out and openly declared that states should not only pause reopening efforts, but also reinstate face mask mandates, as Breitbart News documents.
Biden on Keeping the Nation Locked Down
When the 46th president spoke from the White House yesterday, he made very clear his support for indefinite lockdowns and restrictions.
Biden declared that states which have lifted mask mandates should reinstate them; this recommendation comes in spite of the growing unpopularity of mask mandates. After calling on leaders to ensure that mask mandates are in place, he also stated that businesses should require face masks in their establishments as well.

News of Biden urging for the return of mask mandates arrived around the same period that Americans learned of his administration’s plan for vaccine passports. Towards the end of his conference, reporters also asked the 46th president if he believes states should stop their efforts to reopen. Biden responded with a resounding “yes” and then walked off stage.
Republican Leadership Across the Nation
Unlike the president, the American people are very pleased with the leadership of Republican governors.
On Monday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis vowed to sign an executive order that prohibits vaccine passports in the state. Many conservatives took to social media to laud the Florida governor for this decision; others also stated that other Republican governors should commit to banning vaccine passports.

The numbers do not lie. Shutdowns and mask mandates have not prevented COVID-19 cases. One need only compare a shut down state like Michigan to an open and free state like Florida.
With each passing moment, it becomes more apparent that Democrats’ love of shutdowns and restrictions is about control, not health.
