Biden Previously Opposed Illegal Immigration, as Seen in Resurfaced Video

As many Americans are aware of, Joe Biden has been in politics for quite some time.

However, some people may be shocked to know that he once supported legal immigration and even called for penalties against employers who hire illegal immigrants. This can be seen in a video which CNN recently dug up, as documented by Fox News.

Reviewing the Resurfaced Video

The video of Biden dates back to 2006 and captures some remarks he made to a crowd in South Carolina. The then-senator affirmed that he voted for hundreds of miles of fence at the Southern border. Biden furthermore denounced the lack of action to do away with illegal immigration as “window dressing.”

In his own words:

“Folks, I voted for a fence, I voted, and unlike most Democrats, and some of you won’t like it, I voted for 700 miles of fence. Let me tell you, we can build a fence 40 stories high — unless you change the dynamic in Mexico and — and you will not like this, and — punish American employers who knowingly violate the law when, in fact, they hire illegals. Unless you do those two things, all the rest is window dressing.”

Biden’s Current Stance on Illegal Immigration

The former vice president has notably changed his tune on illegal immigration, especially within the past 13 years. Since then, Biden has stated that America owes illegal immigrants healthcare and a litany of other benefits. The most interesting thing of all is that many Democrats used to oppose illegal immigration…including former President Obama.

Why the left changed their tune and decided that entry into America should be a free-for-all remains unknown. However, this is not a position which is going to help them win the 2020 presidential election.
