Biden Likens Trump to Jim Crow

Former Vice President Joe Biden recently entered the 2020 presidential election. He is certainly not wasting any time in going after President Trump with every possible opportunity that presents itself, as documented by Fox News.

Biden’s Latest Attack on Trump

On Saturday, Biden launched a fresh attack on the commander-in-chief while campaigning in South Carolina. While speaking to an overwhelmingly African-American audience, Biden asserted that Trump is reviving the Jim Crow era in America.
In Biden’s own words:

“You’ve got Jim Crow sneaking back in. You know what happens when you have an equal right to vote? They lose. Your state motto is, ‘While I breathe, I hope.’ It’s not a joke. We’re breathing, but God, we have got to have hope.”

President Trump and Biden have maintained a tense relationship throughout his time in office. Both men have taken public swipes at one another and the former vice president’s decision to run for office hasn’t changed this. Biden took cheap shots at Trump during the video announcing his candidacy; the commander-in-chief responded by stating that “Sleepy Joe” Biden lacks the energy and temperament in order to run a good campaign.

Same Story, Different Lines

Biden’s decision to claim that President Trump is somehow bringing the Jim Crow era back to America is very typical. Democrats love to assert that Republicans are racist; it’s a tune which they’ve been playing for quite some time, but the facts simply don’t bear it out.
During Biden’s campaign stop in South Carolina, he didn’t provide a shred of evidence to support the assertion that Jim Crow is emerging. Another interesting thing about all this is that Biden made these remarks to an overwhelmingly African-American audience. This shouldn’t be surprising to anyone who’s been paying attention though; Democrats regularly weaponize claims of racism as a tool to evoke fear and attract votes.
