As President Biden and his team try to restrict the transmission of a virus he promised to “close down” during the 2020 election, the newest COVID-19 omicron version is creating new hazards for the American public.
As per World Health Organization (WHO) experts, the omicron form contains a huge level of genetic diversity, “many of which are worrying.”
Travel Bans Aren’t Racist Anymore
Biden imposed travel restrictions on South Africa and seven additional nations on Friday, citing fears about a “heavily modified” form found in Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Malawi.
Before the travel ban’s introduction, White House aide Ron Klain boasted about Biden’s management of the outbreak, encouraging anyone who “desires to have an argument over COVID” to “come on.”
“However, if someone wants to debate COVID, go ahead,” Klain continued. Dr. Anthony Fauci and the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), who proposed the newly enforced travel restrictions, are advising Biden on how to deal with the omicron strain.

Biden, who was a vocal critic of Trump’s travel bans entering the US, owing to concerns of the coronavirus, previously stated America “should lead the world with science.” Biden also claimed travel limitations during a global epidemic are xenophobic.
“We are already in the middle of a coronavirus catastrophe,” Biden declared throughout his presidential election campaign the year before. This came in response to Trump’s decision to impose restrictions on travel from China into the US, in an effort to stem the transmission of COVID-19.
“Instead of Donald Trump’s record of sensationalism, bigotry, and fear-mongering, we really have to lead with science. He is the absolute worst candidate to lead our country during a worldwide health crisis.”
This Doesn’t Bode Well for Biden’s Approval Ratings
Biden’s failure to “turn off” the virus resulted in epidemic weariness, which White House press secretary Jen Psaki blamed on Biden’s low popularity. Americans are “weary of battling” the coronavirus and its “effect on their lives,” according to Psaki.
The initial reports of most people in hospital being unvaccinated must be calibrated against the high background attack rates. Any work on severity that ignores this will end up giving misleading estimates which have serious implications for the spread of the omricon variant 4/n pic.twitter.com/gu9MfdnfO6

Fauci said, on Sunday morning, he would “not be amazed” if the omicron derivative already made its way into the United States. Fauci cited the strain’s large level of genetic diversity as evidence it could possibly evade immune protection.
AstraZeneca, Moderna, Novavax, and Pfizer are among the pharmaceutical companies that have stated they have preparations in place to adjust their vaccinations in light of the advent of omicron.
A White House spokesman said in a statement to Fox News on Saturday, “The president has been updated on omicron’s status. Senior health authorities and the COVID reaction team are watching the omicron developments all the time.”
The White House is urging Americans to undergo COVID booster doses to help prevent the spread of new strains.
