Another piece of unfortunate news is currently making headlines; according to Townhall, 9/11 survivor and U.S. businessman Jason Spindler lost his life in Nairobi when a terror attack broke out at the Dusit hotel.
Prior to yesterday’s tragedy, Spindler made the news for his miraculous survival of the infamous attack which occurred against the World Trade Centers on September 11, 2001. Spindler happened to be in his office at the World Trade Center when the terrorists’ planes crashed into the North Tower. Although Spindler’s officer was annihilated, he was able to get out. He would later go on to become a member of the Peace Corps before founding and running a Nairobi investment firm.
Spindler died yesterday as a result of attacks from Al-Shabaab, a terrorist group which current shares links to al-Qaeda. The group proudly claimed responsibility for the carnage, although Uhuru Kenyatta, the president of Kenya, maintains that the individuals responsible for carrying out the attack against the Dusit hotel have been “eliminated.”
Remarks from Jason Spindler’s Family
Jonathon Spindler, brother to Jason Spindler, wrote some public statements about the unfortunate passing via Facebook:
“It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that my brother, Jason Spindler, passed away this morning during a terror attack in Nairobi. Jason was a survivor of 9/11 and a fighter. I am sure he gave them hell.”
