One of the 2020 Democrat candidates may be getting a new endorsement from a very outspoken member of their party.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced earlier this week that she is “entertaining” the idea of offering an endorsement to one of the Democrats who hopes to take on President Trump in the upcoming election, according to Fox News.
The Possibility of an Endorsement from AOC
According to Ocasio-Cortez, the candidates who are most likely to get an endorsement from her are Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. The congresswoman explained her rationale behind potentially endorsing one of the most extreme candidates within the Democrat Party.
In her own words:
“What I’d like to see in a presidential candidate is one that has a coherent worldview and logic from which all these policy proposals are coming forward. I think Sen. Sanders has that. I also think Sen. Warren has that.”
Ocasio-Cortez also expressed her desire to see a progressive candidate who will make bold changes and focus on climate change, disparities in earnings, and “working people.”

Interestingly enough, Ocasio-Cortez did not claim that former Vice President and now 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden would get her endorsement. As a matter of fact, the congresswoman has previously stated that she has “issues” with Biden running for office in this election. Apparently, there are many progressives within the Democrat wing who take issue with Biden’s candidacy; since his entry into the race, he’s taken heat from progressive groups and individuals who believe that he’s not far left enough.
A Gift or a Curse?
Despite Ocasio-Cortez “entertaining” the idea of endorsing a specific candidate, her endorsement may be a curse instead of a gift. Much of the public views the congresswoman in a negative light, as opposed to a favorable one. This could very well have to do with the extreme remarks and habitual blunders which Ocasio-Cortez had made since her time in the political limelight,
