Whenever Democrats aren’t getting their own way, they hurl accusations of racism. It’s a tale as old as time and the left won’t be giving it up anytime soon. Now, for quite some time, the accusations of racism have been directed towards conservatives and Republicans. Leftists allege that anything which is right of center to socialism and freebies is racist and discriminatory towards the less fortunate.
Overall, the extreme, progressive wing of the Democrat Party has caused even certain leftists to take a step back, something which ought to speak volumes. Unfortunately, progressives have chosen to dig their heels in and turn their fury towards in-party critics.
This is the case as it pertains to the ongoing feud between Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. On Wednesday, Ocasio-Cortez alleged that Pelosi is intentionally targeting certain loose cannon House members because they are “women of color,” as documented by Fox News.
AOC vs. Pelosi
Over the course of this year, various freshmen congressmembers have made flagrant statements about impeachment, called for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and taken to Twitter for the sake of political grandstanding. Naturally, these actions are largely frowned upon by political veterans like Pelosi who have been in the game for longer than a few months.
This hasn’t sat well with Ocasio-Cortez who doesn’t understand the bigger picture. During an interview with The Washington Post, the congresswoman accused Pelosi of harboring racism towards certain members of the House.

“When these comments first started, I kind of thought that she was keeping the progressive flank at more of an arm’s distance in order to protect more moderate members, which I understood. The persistent singling out, it got to a point where it was just outright disrespectful; the explicit singling out of newly elected women of color.”
The Bigger Picture
Nancy Pelosi is far from an ally to the right-wing. She’s even gone as far as to claim that President Trump should be locked up. If Pelosi, of all people, has a problem with the remarks of certain freshmen congress members, that ought to mean something to House caucus members.
By going after Pelosi in this manner, Ocasio-Cortez is signifying just how far left the Democrats truly are. The congresswoman would truly do well to pause, take a step back and consider that Pelosi might know something which she does not. Radicalism, hubris, and the failure to listen to anyone who strays from socialist fundamentalism will be the downfall of progressives.
