Weeks have passed since Robert Mueller officially concluded his longtime Russia investigation, but unfortunately, Democrats still can’t let it go.
Their new angle involves calling to impeach President Trump by asserting that he somehow obstructed justice during the probe. This is something which Mueller never stated or confirmed, by the way. However, it appears as though Democrats’ refusal to let this matter go has backfired.
Attorney General William Barr is now taking a deeper look at the probe; yesterday, Barr further explained the reasons behind his own inspection of Mueller’s report and events which occurred shortly thereafter, as documented by Fox News.
Reviewing Barr’s Explanation for His Review of the Probe
If you let the Democrats tell it, shielding President Trump is Attorney General Barr’s only motivation for reviewing the Mueller probe, what led up to it, and what occurred shortly thereafter. However, this is simply not factual, regardless of how much Democrats would like to convince themselves otherwise.
In a Wall Street Journal Interview which was publicized yesterday, the attorney general explained himself in great detail:
“I felt the rules were being changed to hurt Trump, and I thought it was damaging for the presidency over the long haul. At every grave juncture the presidency has done what it is supposed to do, which is to provide leadership and direction. If you destroy the presidency and make it an errand boy for Congress, we’re going to be a much weaker and more divided nation.”

The attorney general furthermore maintained that he wasn’t given sufficient details about the catalyst which launched the Russia investigation, to begin with. Throughout the interview, Barr maintained that if Americans are truly concerned about interference from foreign officials, then they ought to be equally as vigilant regarding the abuse of government power here at home.

At the end of the day, most Americans are aware that the Russia probe was launched for the intention of harming President Trump. Of course, this attempt failed, but there was never any concrete evidence to show or even suggest that Trump colluded with the Russian government. Democrats know this, which is why they now feel so threated by Barr.
